The problem

Three questions every lecture leaves you with.

SlydeMe answers all three, before you start drilling.

Question 01
"Did I cover everything that matters?"
Lectures bury the testable stuff inside 50 minutes of context. You take notes hoping you caught the right things, then find out on the NBME or shelf you didn't.
Question 02
"Which AnKing cards go with this lecture?"
AnKing has 35,000+ cards. Mapping your lecture to the right ones is a job nobody has time for, so most students drill blindly and hope for overlap.
Question 03
"What did my lecturer teach that AnKing doesn't have?"
Professors and attendings add their own emphasis, eponyms, and edge cases. If it's not in AnKing, you forget it by Friday, and it shows up on the exam.
What you get

Five files from every lecture.
Built only from what was actually said.

No outside info. No hallucinated content. No filler. If your lecturer didn't say it, it's not in the output.

01
Study guide
Every concept from the lecture, written out cleanly. Mechanism diagrams, comparison tables, eponyms, key terms, and comprehensive self-test questions.
02
AnKing tag list
Every concept from the lecture, mapped to its existing AnKing card tag. Copy and paste straight into AnkiHub search.

03
Gap-fill Anki deck (.apkg)
Flash cards covering only the stuff your lecturer taught that AnKing doesn't already have. Relevant lecture diagrams embed inline as visual context, and a Vision pass adds vision-grounded questions ("What is the yellow region?") for diagrams the lecturer drilled on. For dedicated Image Occlusion decks, use the Upload Diagram tab.

The strict-scope rule

We don't generate. We extract.

The AI is locked to one job: pull what your lecturer actually taught out of the lecture and organize it. It can't add outside knowledge, fill in "related" concepts, or guess at what might be on the exam.

That means you can trust the output. What you study is exactly what was covered. Nothing more, nothing less. That's the whole point.

Who it's for

Whether you're a medical or PA student, you need the same thing.

M1s
The lecture firehose.
50-minute lectures, multiple a day, plus AnKing on top. SlydeMe tells you exactly which cards match what you just watched, so you stop guessing.
M2s
The dedicated grind.
Block exams, NBME practice, and Step 1 prep stacked on each other. SlydeMe keeps you locked to what your professors actually emphasized.
M3s
Clinicals + shelves.
Recorded didactics, attending lectures, OnlineMedEd-style content. SlydeMe processes any of it and maps it to your Step 2 CK and Step 3 AnKing cards.
PA-S
PANCE + EOR prep.
Family Med, IM, Peds, EM, and Surgery rotations get matched to the AnKing #PANCE::EOR tag library. Drop in didactics or clinical-year lectures, get cards aligned to the actual blueprint.

FAQ

Questions students actually ask.

I have authorized access to a video on Canvas, Panopto, Kaltura, or Echo360. How do I save it as a file to upload here?

Most class-recording players don't expose a download button, even when your institution allows you to save the content. Several free, third-party browser extensions let you capture authorized video streams to a local MP4 file:

  • Video DownloadHelper: available for Chrome and Firefox. This is the most reliable option if you're not on Chrome.
  • FetchV: Chrome only. FetchV sometimes saves audio and video as separate files. Upload them both and we'll combine them ourselves.
  • Stream Recorder: Chrome only. Useful when DownloadHelper or FetchV miss the stream.

Safari: none of these extensions have Safari versions. If you're on a Mac, install Chrome or Firefox for this step.

Double-check before you download. Review your institution's acceptable-use policy and the source platform's terms of service before saving a recording. You're responsible for ensuring you have the right to save and process the content you upload here.

SlydeMe is not affiliated with these tools and does not develop or distribute them. Use of any third-party extension is governed by its own terms.

Can I upload PDFs, slide decks, or textbook chapters instead of a video?
+

Yes. The Upload File tab accepts:

  • Documents: PDF, Word (.docx), PowerPoint (.pptx), Excel (.xlsx), EPUB, plain text (.txt, .md)
  • Single images: PNG, JPG, JPEG, WEBP, HEIC (iPhone photos)

Up to 100 MB per file. The pipeline extracts text and labeled diagrams, runs them through the same AnKing matcher and gap-fill card generator that videos use, and embeds relevant lecture diagrams inside the gap-fill cards as visual context. For dedicated Image Occlusion (IO) decks, use the separate Upload Diagram tab — drop in a screenshot of a labeled figure and get back an IO .apkg.

Document jobs typically finish in 30 to 90 seconds, much faster than video because there's no speech-to-text step.

What's the Upload Diagram tab for?
+

The Upload Diagram tab is dedicated to Image Occlusion. Drop in up to 10 labeled medical diagrams (screenshots from your slides, textbook figures, anatomical illustrations) and get back ONE combined IO .apkg with every label on every diagram masked. Each card hides one label and asks you to recall it.

Accepted formats: PNG, JPG, JPEG, WEBP, HEIC, or a single-page PDF. Up to 10 diagrams per batch, 100 MB total across all files. For best results, zoom in or crop so only the diagram you want is in the screenshot.

Why a dedicated tab? Auto-detecting "what's a labeled diagram" inside a 60-minute lecture or 100-page PDF was unreliable — many slides got skipped or were miscategorized. The dedicated path lets you curate the exact image you want IO cards from, in a single click.

Which exams does it cover?
+

For med school students, we cover Step 1, Step 2 CK, Step 3, and NBME shelves: the full USMLE pathway. M3 shelf prep, Step 2 CK, and Step 3 review all draw from the same clinical-knowledge AnKing tag library.

For PA students, the May 2026 AnKing deck adds a dedicated #PANCE::EOR namespace with 12,121 cards covering all 7 PAEA End-of-Rotation exams: Family Medicine (4,068), Internal Medicine (2,868), Pediatrics (2,696), Emergency Medicine (1,860), General Surgery (1,468), Women's Health (1,055), and Psychiatry/Behavioral Health (612).

What if I don't use AnKing (like if I'm a nursing student)?
+

No problem. AnKing tag matching is optional. Turn off the AnKing tag list in Advanced Options and SlydeMe skips the matching step entirely. The gap-fill deck still covers every concept your lecturer touched, so 39 concepts in your lecture become 39 AI-built flashcards drawn from the actual lecture content.

Works the same way for nursing, dental, pharmacy, OT/PT, and any other healthcare students with didactic lectures. You also don't need a paid AnKing or AnkiHub account; we surface the public tag library either way.

How is this different from pasting a transcript into ChatGPT?
+
ChatGPT doesn't see your slides, doesn't know what AnKing covers, doesn't find your gaps, doesn't organize the output for studying, and routinely makes things up. SlydeMe does all of that, and the strict-scope rule (it only uses what your lecturer actually said) means it won't hallucinate.
What are Image Occlusion cards?
+

Image Occlusion (IO) cards are flashcards where part of an image is hidden under a colored mask, and you have to recall what's underneath. The standard format for medical-school anatomy review and labeled-diagram drilling.

Generate them via the Upload Diagram tab: drop in a labeled diagram (PNG, JPG, WEBP, HEIC, or 1-page PDF) and get back an .apkg in the standard Image Occlusion Enhanced format that imports cleanly alongside your existing AnKing IO deck.

For lectures (Paste link, Upload Video, Upload File), relevant diagrams are embedded inline inside the gap-fill cards as visual context — no separate IO deck. The dedicated Upload Diagram tab is for the cleanest IO experience: you control which figure becomes a deck.

Can SlydeMe generate output in a non-English language?
+

Yes. Pick your preferred output language at signup or anytime from your profile. We support 44 languages including Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hindi, Arabic, Persian, Hebrew, Korean, French, German, Italian, Russian, Vietnamese, Portuguese, Japanese, and more.

The audio language doesn't have to match. An English lecture with output set to Korean works exactly as you'd expect: the spoken language is auto-detected and transcribed in the original tongue, then the study guide, AnKing tag list, gap-fill cards, and verbatim transcript all render in Korean. Tag identifier strings (e.g., #AK_Step1::Cardio::Pathology) stay English because they're literal AnkiHub search keys.

Is my content private, and can I share outputs with a study group?
+

Source videos are deleted within 24 hours. Output files auto-delete after you download them. We never use your content to train AI. SlydeMe is not a HIPAA-covered service, so don't upload patient-identifying material from clinical rotations.

Outputs are licensed to you for personal study. Anything derived from a copyrighted lecture (slides, transcript, study guides) inherits the same restrictions as the original recording, so you generally shouldn't redistribute it without your lecturer's or institution's permission. Confirm with your school before sharing.

What's the refund policy?
+
Cancel any time and you won't be billed for the next month. No partial refunds, but no questions asked on cancellation.
